I am so excited to share great news from Canon! They just recently announced a new 4K pocket-sized cinema camera with 16 stops dynamic range and a 9.6MP Super 35mm sensor, which was inherited from their older sister EOS C300 Mark III.
The newly announced camera boasts the Canon’s new DIG!C DV7 image processor, which capable film 4K video up to 120 fps. in 10-bit 4:2:2 colour depth. Of course, it has a Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus system.
The small body has dual card slots, a removable top handle and built-in Neutral Density filters (up to 10-stops), built-in mini-XLR audio inputs, and more. Moreover, for social media video production, it has a 1/4” tripod socket for vertical shooting, which is very useful for those who produce quality media content for platforms such as Instagram or Facebook.
By the way, the EOS C70 is the first Cinema EOS camera with a built-in RF-lens mount. It’s a piece of great news for those who are already an EOS R series users. For full-frame lens owners, there is another option. Canon offers as an option the new EF – RF optical adapter. With this adapter, you will be able to boost the speed of the attached lens by 1-stop.
But there are more unexpected and fascinating features. For the first time in a Cinema EOS camera, Canon introduces the Electronic Image Stabilization, Auto ISO, and Gain Control. Those new functions will be handy while shooting some high pace event videos such as a wedding or corporate milestone
